    pleasant stay with great views

The room had a wonderful outlook over the river, creating a serene atmosphere for our stay. The onsen experience was a standout, providing relaxation after our daily hikes. I particularly liked the diverse breakfast options, which were beautifully presented and flavorful, making mornings enjoyable. The views of the river truly enhanced our experience.

The walk from the station was a bit lengthy, especially with luggage.

    spacious room
    delicious meals
    helpful staff
    poor entrance

The Japanese-style room had beautiful river views and was quite spacious. The onsen was a highlight, offering a relaxing experience after hiking. The dinner served was delicious, with a variety of options for different tastes, and the buffet breakfast was plentiful and flavorful. Staff assistance was invaluable for planning my hiking itinerary and transportation needs. However, the location was a bit far from the train station, requiring a 20-minute walk with luggage, which wasn't ideal. I also encountered a cockroach in my room, which was unsettling but manageable. Some areas, like the entrance, showed signs of age and could use improvement. Despite these concerns, the amenities, including the all-you-can-drink bar and manga reading room, made my stay enjoyable.

    tedious walk

The location is a bit of a trek from the station. a 20-minute walk uphill can challenge anyone with luggage. Had to settle for a smoking room, which smelled rather unpleasant and felt outdated. Dinner service timed poorly, affecting evening plans, and the age of some areas was evident, needing a bit of sprucing up.

Staying here was a delightful experience. I was on the Nakasendo trail, and this place provided the perfect spot to unwind. The spacious room offered a beautiful view of the river, and the cleanliness was spot on. I particularly enjoyed the onsen—it was immaculate and very relaxing after a day of hiking. The breakfast was diverse and beautifully presented, making mornings something to look forward to.

We had a fantastic stay in a spacious Japanese-style room with beautiful river views. The kids loved the onsen, and we appreciated the variety of free drinks available. The vibe was perfect for our family of six, especially with our four teenagers in tow.

My kids wished breakfast was open later for us night owls.

    picturesque view
    relaxing onsen
    dinner timing issue
    poor hiking information
    limited evening activities

The spacious Japanese-style room offered pleasant river views and traditional décor that enhanced our experience. The onsen was one of the best I've encountered, providing a perfect way to unwind after a day's hiking. Breakfast was varied and beautifully presented. however, the dinner service struggled with timing, which disrupted our evening plans. I also found the lack of organized hiking information a bit frustrating given the area’s rich trails.

    spacious accommodations
    delicious breakfast
    onsen experience
    tough walk

We had a fantastic time staying here, with spacious Japanese-style accommodations and a lovely onsen. The onsite onsen was the best we experienced during our trip, perfect for relaxing after hiking the Nakasendo trail. The breakfast was hearty and delicious, and it was great to meet fellow hikers. The natural beauty of the area was a huge plus for us.

The walk from the station was tougher than expected with luggage, which could be challenging for some guests.
